Where as,

- M ( mass of block )
- a ( acceleration )
Taking Block first ( m1 )
- Block m1 = 10N.
Now, Taking Block second ( m2 )
- Block M2 = 2 kg.
Therefore, the force exerted on the 2 kg mass is 3N.
