AnsWer :

3N.

GiveN :

  • Two blocks of masses 8 kg and 2 kg respectively lie on a smooth horizontal surface in contact with one other.
  • Fnet = 15N.

SolutioN :

Let,

  • Block mass m1 = 8 kg.
  • Block mass m2 = 2 kg.
  • Fnet = 15N.

We have Formula.

 \tt \dagger \: \: \: \: \: F_{net} = ma.

Where as,

  • F ( Force )
  • M ( mass of block )
  • a ( acceleration )

Taking Block first ( m1 )

  • Block m1 = 10N.

 \tt : \implies F_{net} = ma.

 \tt : \implies15= 10a.

 \tt : \implies a = \dfrac{15}{10} .

 \tt : \implies a = 1.5m \: {s}^{2} .

Now, Taking Block second ( m2 )

  • Block M2 = 2 kg.

 \tt : \implies F_{net} = ma.

 \tt : \implies F_{net} = 2 \times 1.5.

 \tt : \implies F_{net} = 3n.

Therefore, the force exerted on the 2 kg mass is 3N.
