Two bodies of equal masses are kept at a height of h & 2h respectively.What will be the ratio of their potential energies ?

PE(1)/PE(2)=mgh/mg2h
=>1/2
Hence, the ratio of their potential energies is 1/2.

Mass of first body = Mass of second body

i.e M_A = M_B

Heights = h and 2h respectively.

Now,

\dfrac{P.E_{A}}{P.E_B}\\\\=\dfrac{mgh}{mg2h}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\=1 : 2
