then we can say that the cone will occupy  1/3 volume because at each level

distance between slant height and height of cylinder increases

we know that volume of cylinder = $\pi$ * $\frac{3V}{\pi*r^2}$ * h

hence volume of cone = $\frac{1}{3}$ * $\pi$ * $r^{2}$ * h

and height, h = 3V/PI*r^2
