Answer:

( 1.2 , 3.2 ).

Explanation:

We know,

Centre of mass of a body is given by :

( mr + MR ) / ( m + M ), for a system containing two particles of mass m at position r and M at position R.

Here,

Coordinations are ( 1 , - 2 ) and ( - 3 , 4 ) are masses are 0.8 kg and 1.2 kg.

Therefore,

= > x cordinate of C.M. = { 0.8( 1 ) + 1.2( - 3 ) } / { 0.8 + 1.2 }

= > x - cordinate of CM = { 0.8 - 3.6 } / ( 2.0 )

= > x cordinate of CM = 2.4 / 2 = 1.2

= > y cordinate of CM = { 0.8( - 2 ) + 1.2( 4 ) } / 2.0

= > y cordinate of CM = { 1.6 + 4.8 } / 2

= > y cordinate of CM = 6.4 / 2 = 3.2

CM lies at the point ( 1.2 , 3.2 ).
