Initial momentum = final momentum
initial momentum of the system = (5kg×5m/s)+(3kg×3m/s) = 34kg-m/s
final momentum of the system = (5kg+3kg)×Vm/s
so, 34 = (5+3)V
=> V=34/8=4.25m/s
