Two bodies of masses m and 4m are moving with equal kinetic energies. The ratio of their linear momenta will be

Proof :

As k. E =1/2mv² …(eq1)

As m is increased to 4m then eq 1 becomes as:

K. E=1/2((4m)v²)

K. E=2mv² ……(eq 2). . .. (4/2=2).

K. E= 2 K.E. . . . (mv²=K.E)

And the ratio is 1:2.

Multiply with mass ratio 1:4
