two bodies of masses M1 and M2 are initially at rest and their centres are R distance apart if they move directly towards one another under the influence of the mutual gravitational attraction then the ratio of initial acceleration of M1 to initial acceleration of M2 would be

force = g \times \frac{m1 \times m2}{ {r}^{2} }

acceleration = \frac{force}{mass}

a1 = g \times \frac{m2}{ {r}^{2} }

a2 = g \times \frac{m1}{ {r}^{2} }

 \frac{a1}{a2} = \frac{m2}{m1}
