then AC=5m
BC=ED=12m
according to Pythagoras theorem
${hypotenuse}^{2} = {base}^{2} + {perpendicular}^{2}$
so AB^2=AC^2+BC^2
=25+144
=169
AB=√169
AB=13m
So the distance between their top is 13m.
