Answer:

Explanation:

Case (i)

P = V²/R

For same voltage of 220 V

R ∝ 1/P

∴ 60 W bulb has more resistane.

ii) when bulbs are connected in series across 440 V

For same current in ckt,

P = I²R

∴ P ∝ R

Since R is higher for 60 W bulb

Power consumed by 60 W bulb is more and it gives more brightness.

∴ 60 W bulb having higher resistance will give more brightness

Answer:

Explanation:

Answer:  (4)

- R1 = V^2/P

- R2 = V^2/ P

R1 = 220 x 220/ 60

R2 = 220 x 220 / 100

clearly, R1 > R2

in series, current is same

thus,  V1 = IR      V2= IR

V1 > V2

and V1 is greater than specified voltage thus 60 W bulb will get fused
