Cellular Respiration →

  1. It is a Biological process that takes place in every cell of the Organism.
  2. Blood carries Oxygen and Nutrients absorbed from food to every cell. Cell takes in Nutrients and Oxygen from Blood and breaks the Glucose in Food into ATP (Adenosine Tri Phosphate) /Energy molecules and stores it in the Mitochondria of the Cell.
  3. The By products of this reaction is Carbon-di-oxide and water.
  4. Carbon-di-oxide is given back to the Blood which goes to the lungs and deposits carbon-di-oxide and collects oxygen. This Carbon-di-oxide is exhaled out.
  5. Water is also put out into the blood. Blood carries this water to kidneys. Here, toxins get flushed out through urine and excess water is re-absorbed.
  • Water is needed by the Body to regulate Body Temperature, during Sweating, Digestion, etc...
  • Excessive water loss causes Cell-wall to shrink. This affects the functioning of the Cell leading to Dehydration.
  • A person can live without Food for three weeks, but He can't live without water for more than three to four days.

Cellular respiration, the process by which organisms combine oxygen with foodstuff molecules, diverting the chemical energy in these substances into life-sustaining activities and discarding, as waste products, carbon dioxide and water.
