Given : Two camels C1 and C2 start from two opposite points X and Z respectively which are 250 km apart.

They started their journey at 8 am. Both travel with an average speed of 30km/hr.

Camel C1 takes rest at 9 am and starts again at 10 am.

While the other camel C2 travels without stopping.

To Find :  At what time will they cross each other.

Solution:

Let say after x hrs they meet

the C2 travel for x hrs

and C1 travel for x - 1 hrs

Distance covered =

30x + 30(x - 1) = 250

=> 3x + 3x - 3  = 25

=> 6x = 28

=> x = 28/6

=> x = 14/3

=> x = 4  2/3  hrs

=> x =  4 hrs  40 mins

8 + 4 hrs  40 mins

= 12:40 PM

they cross each other at 12:40 PM
