Given ,

The two capacitors of 1 µf and 2 µf are connected in series

We know that , the equivalent capacitance in series combination is given by

  \boxed{ \sf{ \frac{1}{C}  = \frac{1}{C'}  + \frac{1}{C''}  + ..... }}

Thus ,

1/C = 1/1 + 1/2

1/C = (2 + 1)/2

C = 2/3

C = 0.6 µf

C = 0.6 × 10^(-6) f

The resultant or equivalent capacitance is 0.6 × 10^(-6) f
