(a) C3H6 will show addition reaction as it is an unsaturated hydrocarbon.

(b) C3H6 reacts with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst to give ethane on adding one molecule of hydrogen across carbon-carbon bond.

                           C3H6 + H2 → C3H8

Vegetable oil reacts with hydrogen in presence of Ni as a catalyst to form vegetable ghee which is a saturated compound.

Addition reaction is characteristic property of unsaturated hydrocarbons .

Out of the given compounds , A and B , compound B is unsaturated hydrocarbon .

So, compound B will show addition reaction. Chemical equation is as follows :

C3H6+H2 ----> C3H8.
