two cars A & B, before they collide.

B A

car B of mass 1200 kg, is stationary. Car A, of mass 2000 kg, is traveling towards car B at 18m/s
the cars collide & car B experiences an impulse. Car A continues to move in the same direction, with a momentum of 21 000 kg m/s
calculate the momentum of car B immediately after the collision

By conservation of Momentum:

M_{A} * V_{Ai} + M_{B} * V_{Bi} = M_{A} * V_{Af} + M_{B} * V_{Bf}

M_{A} = 2000 Kg

M_{B} = 1200 Kg

V_{Ai} = 18 m/sec

V_{Bi} = 0 m/sec

M_{A} * V_{Af} = 21000 Kg m/sec

M_{B} * V_{Bf} = ?

Putting all the values in above equation, we get:

V_{Bf} = 12.5 m/sec....<<<<Answer.

I Hope this will Help You.
