Question: Two cars A and B travel along the same road in the same direction from the same starting place car. A maintains a speed of 60 km per hour and car B 75 km per hour, but b starts 1 hour later. How many hours will B take to overtake A?

Solution: Let car B take t hours to overtake car A. At the time of overtaking, A has travelled for ( t + 1 ) hours. The distance travelled by both is the same. For constant speed: distance = speed × time

Therefore,

75t=60(t+1)\\t=4h

Distance x=75\times4=300m
