two cars are moving towards each other on a straight road with velocity 10 M per second and 12 m per second respectively when they are 16 cm apart then each kar di accelerates at 2 metre per second square until they stop in order to avoid collision calculate the distance between them when they come to rest

subhash81: I think that vehicles will collide because the separations are so minimal
rohan8011: No the answer is 99 metres
subhash81: Please clarify the above question , it is stated that to avoid collision - and separation are only 16cm before deceleration and you are saying that answer is 99 metres, then collision is sureshort happens
subhash81: Please show the procedure of answer
rohan8011: sorry the separation here is 160cm not 16cm
subhash81: Then however according to your answer the two vehicles must collide
rohan8011: I don't know the procedure. But I'm sure about the answer.
subhash81: If you are sure about answer then seperation should be 160 m then only later seperation(99m)will be lower than initial seperation i.e; 160m
subhash81: I think you will clear about that

Here we go if we take initial separation be 160m then, distance travelled by both cars in opposite directions of approach is(36+25)m =61m,then 160-61= 99 m
