Two cars leave Delhi at the same time, travelling in opposite directions.If the average speed of one car is 5km/hr more than that of other and they are 425 km apart at the end of 5hrs,what is the average speed of each?

car 1 =40 km/hr

car 2=40+5=45km/hr

and of other be X+5km/hr

total av speed =(X+X+5)km/hr=2x+5km/hr

total distance=speed×time

425=(2x+5)×5

425=10x+25

425-25=10x

400/10=X

therefore, X=40km/hr
