Answer:

distance between city a and city b = 330 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say distance between city a & b =  D  km

Speed of car 1 = 30 km/Hr

Time taken by Car 1 = D/30  hr

Speed of car 2 = 44 km/Hr

Time taken by Car 2 = D/44  hr

car2 takes 3.5 hours lesser time than the car1 as car 2 speed is higher

3.5 hrs = 7/2 hrs

D/30 - D/44 =  7/2

Multiplying by 44×15 both Sides

22D - 15D = 7×22×15

7D = 7×22×15

D = 22×15

D = 330 km

distance between city a and city b = 330 km
