Two chords ab,cd of length 24cm, 10cm respectively of a circle aew parallel. If the chords lie on the smae side of the centre and the distance between them is 7cm, then find the length of the diameter of the cirlce

Here , AM = MB = 12cm......... Perpendicular drawn from the centre of the circle to the chord bisects the chord .
Similarly, CQ = QD = 5cm .
Draw AD
In triangle AMO and triangle DQO ,
Use Pythagoras theorem and find AO and OD then add them both , you will get AD .Its nothing but the diameter of the circle .
