Two circies are drawn with sides AB and AC of a triangle ABC as diameters. The circles intersect at a
point D. If AB = 5 cm, D =3 cmn and AC = 6 cm, find BC

in triangle ABD

AD*AD=AB*AB - BD*BD.

AD*AD=5*5 - 3*3.

AD*AD=25 - 9

AD=root of 16= 4

AD=4cm

in triangle ADC

DC*DC=AC*AC - AD*AD.

DC*DC=6*6 - 4*4.

DC*DC=36 - 16

DC= root of 20

which is 3cm+root 20

thus ,BC= 3+root of 20
