Given that :

Diameter of First circle = 8 cm.

Diameter of second circle = 6 cm.

Thus,

Radius of first circle = AE = 4 cm.

Radius of second circle = EC = 3 cm.

Now,

We know that,

If two circles touch each other externally, distance between their centres is equal to the sum of their radii.

This means that :

AE + EC = Distance between their centres

AE + EC = 4 + 3 = 7 cm.

Thus, Distance between their centres is 7 cm.
