When key is closed galvanometer will show a momentary deflection due to produce of induced current due to change in magnetic field lines.

And when key is opened again a momentary deflection will be seen but at opposite direction due to again a change in magnetic fields..

When the key connected to coil-1 is closed or opened, the galvanometer connected to coil-2 will show deflection.

  • When the key connected to coil-1 is closed, the current starts flowing through the coil.
  • This current produces flux and this flux gets linked with the coil-2.
  • Since the flux linked with coil-2 will changes, an emf is induced for a moment in coil-2 which sets a momentary current in coil-2 and hence, causes the galvanometer to deflect.
  • Since the flux linked with coil-2 becomes constant afterward, the galvanometer comes to zero.
  • Again when the key is opened, the current in coil-1 becomes zero changing the flux to zero.
  • This changes the flux linked with coil-2 and again causes a momentary deflection in the galvanometer.
