  Total voltage drop across wire = 150 × 8

             = 1200V

             Total resistance of wire

             = 150 × 0.5 = 75 Ω

             ∴ current through wire

             I=VR=120075=16 Ampere

             ∴ Power loss = I²R

                                   = (16)2 × 75

                                    = 19200 W

                                   = 19.2 kW
