Two conducting wires of same material and of equal lengths and equal diameters are first

connected in series and then in parallel in a circuit across the same potential difference.

What is the ratio of heat produced in series and parallel combination for the same time

duration?

let the" r" be R in each case

1st.heat =vIt=v×2v/R×t

2nd.therefore taking v×v/2R×t

therefore ration is 4vR/Rv=4:1

4:1 is the correct answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

req in 1st case is 2/R and i= 2v/R

req in 2nd case is 2R and i is v/2R
