Two crossroads each 2m wide,run at right angle throught the centre of a rectangular pack of length 64m and breath38m such that each is parrallel toone of the site of the rectangular find the area of roads also find the area of the remaining part of the park
Answers
hello mate here is your answer,
=> two crossroads running at right angle = 2m wide
=> length of park given = 64m
=> breadth of park given= 38 m
=> area of park = length x breadth
=> 64 x 38 = 2432
area of roads are the following -::
= (i) length x breadth(because of parallel lines)
=> 64 x 2 = 128 m
= (ii) length x breadth(all roads have 2m width)
=> 38. x. 2
=> 76 m
=> therefore area of roads = area of vertical length + ( area of horizontal - extra square length )
extra square length = 2^2 = 4 sqm
=> area of roads = 76 + ( 128 - 4 )
=> area of roads = 76 + 124
=> area of roads = 200 sq m
So area of park = area of park - area of roads excluding park
area of park = 2432 - 200
area of park = 2232 sqm
So area of roads is 188 sq m and area of park is 2432 after subtracting roads area we get 2232 sq m
hope it helps you if so then pls mark as branlist!!!!!!!!!
