Step-by-step explanation:

(1.)first cube side =10cm

second cube side =10cm

join cube together to make a cuboid

whose side is length =20cm

breath =10cm

height =10cm

total surface area = 2(l×b+b×h+h×l)

= 2(20×10+10×10+10×20)

= 2(200+100+200)

= 2×500

=1000cm^2

Lateral surface area = 2h(l+b)

= 2× 10(20+10)

= 20× 30

= 600cm^2

(2.) lateral surface area of cuboid = both cube lateral surface area

600= 2×4×a^2

600= 8×10×10

600=800

not equal
