Probability for rolling two dice with the six sided dots such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 dots in each die.



the number of outcomes when both the dice show same number = {(1, 1) , (2, 2), (3, 3), (4, 4), (5, 5), (6, 6)}

i.e.  6 outcomes

the number of outcomes getting different number on both dice = 36 - 6 = 30

the required probability = 30/36 = 5/6.
