Answer:

If two dice are rolled , then there are 36 outcomes.

S = {1,1 , 1,2 , 1,3 , 1,4 , 1,5 , 1,6

2,1 , 2,2 , and so on }

n(s) = 36

Let 'A' be the event that sum of no. obtained is divisible by 4.

A = { 1,3 , 2,2 , 2,6 , 3,1 , 3,5 , 4,4 , 5,3 , 6,2 , 6,6 }

n(A) = 9

:. P (A) = 9/36 = 1/4.

:. Probability of event that sum of no. obtained id divisible by 4 is 1/4.

Let 'B' be the event that the sum of the number is less than 7.

B = { 1,1 , 1,2 , 1,3 , 1,4, 1,5 , 2,1 , 2,2 , 2,3 , 2,4 , 3,1 , 3,2 , 3,3 , 4,1 , 4,2 , 5,1 }

n (B) = 15

:. P (B) = 15/36

:. P (B) = 5/12.

:. Probability of event that sum obtained is less than 7 is 5/12.

Please continue the 'S' set. And also, I have not used the formula P(S) = n(A)/P(S) so please remember all these things.
