For this we can use the formula:

Probability= number of desired outcomes ÷ total number of outcomes

Calculating the number of desired outcomes is easy, we just count them. The desired outcomes are {(2,2),(4,4),(6,6)} so there are 3 desired outcomes.

Counting the number of total outcomes would be a little more cumbersome so we can take a shortcut. The possible outcomes on each die is 1–6 so there are 6 possible outcomes on each die. So the number of possible outcomes of the two dice together is 6×6=36. Now putting these back into our formula we get:

Probability= 3/36 = 1/12
