when two dice are thrown together then total number of all possible outcomes= 6² =6×6=36

The favorable outcome of getting the same number on both dice is: (1,1),(2,2),(3,3),(4,4),(5,5),(6,6).

∴The number of favorable outcomes =6

∴Required probability= 6/36 = 1/6
