Step-by-step explanation:

two poles of height 20 m and 28 m are erected on the ground

i.e AC = 28 m

ED = 20 m

and distance between the poles  CD is 15 m

Then construct BE parallel to CD

and BC= ED = 20 m

i.e AB = AC - BC = 28- 20 = 8 cm

since , The two poles are erected straight then the angle is 90°

using the pythagoras theorem in triangle ABE

we get

AE²= AB²+BE²

AE² = (8)²+(15)²

AE²= 64+225

AE² = 289

AE = √289 = 17 m

hence ,

17 m wire will be required to join the top of the poles
