Sulphur (S) and oxygen (O) have same number of valence electron

Electronic configuration of S and O
S- K= 2 , L = 8 , M = 6
O- K= 2 , L = 6

Hence, the valence shell of both the element is 6

The two elements are:

Sulphur & Oxygen.

Both have a valency 2-.

Both have 6 electrons in their Valance shell or the Outermost shell.

Hope it helps............
