Let the length of the third side be x
Then, length of the equal sides = (x - 4)
Perimeter = 55 cm
Therefore, x + 2(x - 4) = 55
or, x + 2x - 8 = 55
or, 3x - 8 = 55
or, 3x = 55 + 8
or, 3x = 63
or, x = 63/3
or, x = 21 cm
Length of the equal sides = 21 - 4 = 17 cm
Length of the third side = 21 cm
