3x-1=2x+2
x=3

so the sides are 3x-1=8
2x+2=8
2x=6
so perimeter of triangle=6+8+8=22

Equate the expressions for the two equal sides.
3 x - 1 = 2 x +2
3 x - 2 x = 2 + 1

x = 3

the sides are 3 x -1 , 2x +2 , 2x
so    3*3 -1 ,  2*3 + 2 , and  2*3

that is        8, 8, and 6  units

perimeter is the sum of all sides :  8+8+6 = 22 units
