Two farmers Raj and Tom approached the agricultural office complaining low yield. After testing the soil, the field officer advised Raj to treat the soil with quick lime. Tom was asked to treat his farm with organic matter. Can you predict the reason? Explain.

because the ph of the soil would be low so to bring the ph to neutral it was advise d to do so.
crops grow well in neutral soil.

Raj was asked to treat the soil with quick lime bzoc his soil must be too much acidic. He needed to treat it with base - quick lime(calcium oxide). Base will neutralize the effect of high acids.

On the other hand Tom's field must be too basic that he needed to treat it with organic manure. As organic manure releases acids. It will neatralize the effect of excessive base.
