Two forces 40 N and 60 N are acting at a point by making an
angle 30° to each other. Find magnitude and direction of
resultant vector.​

Red line =F1N

Blue line =F2N

Green line =40

Now, we can do it in a couple of ways, but notice the 30–60 ? If we join the red and blue line, it will make a right triangle, with the hypotenuse being the resultant. (Using θ=90 , in the cosine rule)

Recall the 30–60–90 ratio, it is (1:3–√:2)

Using a scalar constant x , (x:3–√x:2x)=(F1,F2,40)

So, the other forces are [math]20[/math] and [math]20\sqrt 3[/math]
