Answer :-

Given :

  • Two forces 40 Newton and 60 Newton are acting at a point making an angle 30 degree between them .

To Find :

  • The magnitude and direction of the resultant force .

Solution :

We know , magnitude of two force with angle between then theta is given by :

➙ Fₙₑₜ = √F₁² + F₂² + 2F₁F₂Cosθ

➙ Fₙₑₜ = √40² + 60² + 2 x 40 x 60 x Cos30°

Fₙₑₜ = 114.33 N

Now , let angle from 40 N force is .So ,

➙ Cos ⌀ = 40/114.33

⌀ = Cos⁻¹ 0.34

  • Hence , this is the required solution .
