Answer: The resultant force acting on the body is 5N.

Explanation:

Resultant between two vectors can be calculated by,

  • Resultant = \sqrt{A^{2} +B^{2}+ 2.A.Bcos\alpha   }      where \alpha is angle between two        vectors A and B.
  • Here,A = 4 , B= 3 ,\alpha = 90   as forces are perpendicular to each other.
  • Resultant = \sqrt{4^{2} +3^{2}+ 2.3.cos90 }

                = \sqrt{16+9+0}                          (cos90 = 0)

              =\sqrt{25}

             = 5
