Two friends ajay and manu started a business by making an investment in the ratio of 5 is to 3 out of total profit 4% goes to charity and ajay received amount of 4500 as his share of profit find the total profit

Let total profit be x rupees
charity receives 4% of x = 4/100×x
= x/25 rupees
profit remaining = x - x/25 = (25x-x)/25
= 24x/25
ajay gets = 4500 rupees of remaining profit
manu will get = 24x/25 - 4500
= (24x-112500)/25 rupees
ratio of ajay's profit to manu's profit = 5:3
Therefore,4500÷(24x-112500)/25 = 5/3
= (4500×25)/24x-112500 = 5/3
= 112500×3 = (24x-112500)×5
= 337500 = 120x-562500
= 337500 + 562500 = 120x
= 900000 = 120x
= 900000/120 = x
= 7500 = x
Therefore total profit or x = 7500
and manu's share = 7500 - 4500 = 3000rs.

After paying to charity, A's share = (95*3/5) = Rs. 57.

If A's share is Rs. 57, total profit = Rs. 100.

If A's share is Rs. 855, total profit = (100/57*855) = 1500.
