Step-by-step explanation:

let take work of two friends as x and y

so by condition let take X is faster

so x=2y

x + y =6

2y+y=6

3y=6

y=2

so the time taken by faster one= 6*3/2

=9 hours

Answer

Let one friend be x

And other friend be y

According to question

X=2y

X+y=6

Putting x =2y

2y+y=6

3y=6

Y=2

So ,the time taken the fastest one working alone =6×3/y

Y=2

=6×3/2

=9hours

Time taken is 9 hours ..
