It appears both the girls drank poisoned tea, but one survived. Like snake poison, the poison in this case must have been a proteinaceous substance which affected the girl who had less tea but must have had a cut or cuts in the mouth or an ulcer anywhere else in the digestive tract through which the poison entered the bloodstream. As a result of this, the girl died.
The other girl, who also had poisoned tea, was able to digest the protein in the poison with the help of enzymes in the course of normal physiological activity.

Unfortunately, the girl who drank less (Girl A) died and the girl who drank more (Girl B) survived.

★REASON:-

☆ The poison was in the ice as the girl drank the iced tea, it was found that the ice was still fully in Frozen state. As the ice cubes started melting, the the poison was released  from the ice into the drink.

☆ The first girl (Girl A) drank her tea so fast the ice didn't got a chance to melt and release poison. Hence she survived.
