Two hemisphere are joined together so that they just cover the cylinder radius 3cm and height 8cm , what will be the radius of sphere formed

radius,r=3 cm

The sphere touches the top and bottom corners of the cylinder . so it is enough to find the distance between the top right/left corner of cylinder and the centre point of radius

Draw a line joining the top right corner and centre if radius . now u know the radius =3 , height from top to radius line = 4 .. now use pythogoras theorum to find slant length or radius of sphere

i.e:. 4² + 3³ = (sphere radius)²

16+9 = R²

25=R²

R=5
