Two identical cells, each of emf E, having negligible internal resistance, are connected in parallel with each other across an external resistance What is the current through this resistance?

I=E÷R

Explanation:

As the cells are connected in parallel the net emf in the circuit will be E

By ohm's law the current through resistance R is

I=E/R
