Since, both the balls are identical, therefore, their capacitances C are also equal. The two conducting balls will have a net charge of +2C ( +3C -1C) .

When both the identical balls will charge, a transfer will take place until both the balls are at the same potential. Thus now the net charge will be shared equally by both the balls.

From the conservation of charge, each ball will attain a charge of +1C. Thus, if the balls will be now separated after contact they will repel each other, while earlier they were attracting each other.
