The ratio the power consumed by the resistors in series upon the resistors in parallel = 1/4

Case 1 - The resistors are connected in series to a 6 V battery.

Equivalent resistance = R' = R1 + R2

R' = 10 + 10 = 20 ohm

Power consumed by the resistors in series combination = V²/R'

= 36/20

= 1.8 Watt

Case 2 - The resistors are connected in parallel to a 6 V battery.

Equivalent resistance = R'

=> 1/R' = 1/R1 + 1/R2

=> R' = 5 ohm

Power consumed by the the resistors in parallel combination = V²/R'

= 36/5

= 7.2 Watt

Ratio = power consumed in series combination / power consumed in parallel combination

= 1.8 / 7.2

= 1/4
