By using separating funnel

Pour the liquids into it. Make it stand for a while. In this time, the lighter liquid will form the upper layer whereas the heavier will form the lower. Turn the stop clock till the heavier liquid has been totally removed.

Answer:

Separating Funnel

Explanation:

Separating Funnel is a device which is used to separate two immiscible liquids.

  • The funnel is filled with the two immiscible liquids.

  • The low density liquid (in the figure, oil) comes on the surface and the high density liquid (in the figure, water) sinks at the bottom of funnel.

  • Then, the \sf stop c o c k is turned open and the high density liquid emerges out of the funnel through the \sf stop c ock. When the higher Density liquid comes out completely, close the \sf stop c o c k so that the lower density liquid remains in the funnel.

  • The lower density liquid is then obtained from the funnel, and the higher density liquid gets collected in the flask.
