Answer:

Coefficient of linear expansion of two rods will be 2 : 1

Explanation:

As we know that the difference of length of two rods is same

so here we can say that both rods will expand by same amount when their temperature is raised

so we will have

\Delta L_1 = \Delta L_2

L_1\alpha_1\Delta T = L_2\alpha_2\Delta T

so we will have

L_1 \alpha_1 = L_2\alpha_2

so we have

\alpha_1 : \alpha_2 = L_2 : L_1

\alpha_1 : \alpha_2 = 2 : 1
