Power of first lamp (P₁) = 100 W
Power of second lamp(P₂) = 60 W
We know that in parallel, Potential remains the same.
∴ (V) Potential in both lamp will be 220 V.
Now, For first lamp,
∵ P₁ = V × I₁
∴ I = P₁/V
⇒ I₁ = 100/220
= 0.46
Now, For second lamp,
P₂ = I₂ × V
⇒ I₂ = 60/220
= 0.27
∴ Total current = I = I₁ + I₂ = 0.46 + 0.27 = 0.73 A
Hope it helps .
