Liquid A in x litres of mixture in container 1

= x/6 litres

= y/4 litres

= 3y/4 litres
Therefore Liquid A : Liquid B

=> 5x/6 + y/4 = x/6 + 3y/4
=> 5x - x/6 = 3y/4 - y/4
=> 4x/6 = 2y/4
=> 2x/3 = y/2
=> x/y = 3/4.
