a). 8 Kg/litre when 2 lit of A is mixed with 1 lit of B.

b). 8 Kg/litre when 1kg of A is mixed with 1kg of B.

Explanation:

Given that,

Density of liquid A = 6kg/litre

Density of liquid B = 12 kg/litre

Let the densities be d_{A} and d_{B}

a). V_{1} = 2 litre

Mass of 2 lit. A = V x D

= 2 × 6

= 12 kg

V_{2}  = 1 litre

Mass of 1 lit. B = V * D

= 1 * 12

= 12 Kg

As we know,

Density of mixture = Total mass/Total volume

= (12 + 12)/(2 + 1)

= 24/3

= 8 Kg/litre

b). Total mass = 1 kg of A + 1 kg of B = 2 kg

V_{1} = Mass/density = 1/6 litre

V_{2}  = Mass/density = 1/12 litre

Total volume = V_{1} + V_{2}  = 1/6 + 1/12 = (2 + 1)/12 = 3/12 = 0.25 litre

As we know,

Density of mixture = Total mass/Total volume

= (2 kg)/(0.25)

= 2/0.25

= 8 Kg/litre
